KATHRYN R. RIEBER

Kathryn Rose Rieber (she/they) is an artist, poet, and psychodynamic therapist, making magic all over New York City. With a BA in Communication from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work (2021), Rieber has vast interest in the intersection of social justice, poetic history and performance, mental health, psychology, human connection and somatic healing modalities.
As a licensed social worker with extensive post-graduate clinical training in trauma-informed care at Montefiore Medical Center, Rieber has advanced their practice in trauma therapy, focused on perinatal mental health care, and dyadic group work. Rieber facilitates groups for survivors of domestic violence and IPV, as well as new mothers and fathers. She works with infants, new parents, children, adults, couples, and families, utilizing modalities such as CBT, EFT, mindfulness based therapies, and somatic experiencing techniques. While in undergraduate, Rieber traveled to Indonesia to advance their spiritual practice, immersing in culture and studying yogic histories and practice. In 2018 and 2019 Rieber received their 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training with Dan Ward, as well received certification through Wanderlust Hollywood’s 200-hour Vinyasa flow training with Joan Hyman and Clio Manulien.
Rieber has exhibited artwork and read poetry all over the USA, from Amherst Coffee in the Pioneer Valley, to the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC. They are the founder of the quarterly beat poetry Salon, the Wrtrix Room, and have presented work at 8 Ball Zine Fair, RAW NYC, Conception Arts Los Angeles, La Fleur Cafe, the Poetry Society of New York’s Poetry Festival, and beyond.
